Check your station

Sometimes large cities have more than one train station and as such the train may not always stop all stations. You should always be certain of the exact station you are departing from so you don't wind up at the wrong station.

Train schedule and platform information

The internet is a very convient way to check timetables and train station information. Most railways have their own websites where you can check schedules and platforms. There is plenty of Eurail ticket information available online.

This information can always be found posted up at the train stations themselves. Large stations usually have large digital displays that give real time information such as confirmation of the next train’s departure time and destination.

Baggage

Large stations usually provide some sort of baggage lockers or storage facility that is coin operated. Onboard the trains you'll find luggage racks either above or at the end of each carrage - however keep an eye on you belongings, owner onus applies!

Boarding the train

Check the schedule and wait for your train on the platform so that you can board as soon as it arrives. Station stops are often quite short.

Station stops

These may not always be broadcast or if that are, it might be in a foreign language. Make a note of scheduled arrival times and the station names of stops leading up to your own station. These names can be seen on every platform

Lounges

Some stations offer a lounge facility. Sometimes these are only available to firts class ticket holders.
